EXPECTATIONS - Huh??? In short, 100% Love was the most expected movie of 2012 since it's name was announced. Just think, Jeet+Koel+Ravi Kinagi - this is what we call the team full of captains. Jeet is the heartthrob of Tollywood, Koel is the sweetheart of many and Ravi Kinagi is the godfather of Family entertainers in Bengali Industry and when the three of them come together after a long time (Last movie : Yuddha in 2005), expectations by public (especially Bengali Movie 'Keeda's) just flogs and flogs away. Finally, the day 20th January, 2012 comes and sources revealed that 100% Love broke the record of advance booking in Bengali Movie Industry. 42-86% were the rate of advance bookings that too before 48 hours of the movie. Today I saw from Morning show to Noon Shows, Cinema Halls contained abnormal crowd that was never seen before. So, how does the movie go????
Based on the Telugu blockbuster Aadavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule (2007) [in English : The Words of Women Have Different Meanings], 100% Love tells the story of Rahul Majumder [Jeet], a jobless depressed boy-next-door who has been trying to get a job for at least 10 years. His father [Supriyo Dutta] loves him but also he is very disturbed at the situation of his jobless son. Sunddenly Rahul meets Anuradha [Koel] and falls in love with her. He sees Anu working at Software Solutions Inc., a big IT company and decides to work there. Luckily, he gets the job also with a chance to take his love story ahead. But things get more worse when Anu's marriage gets decided with Rahul's best friend Abhi [Sujoy Ghosh]. Rahul's father dies and Abhi takes him to his village to attend his and Anu's wedding. What happens next? 10% Action, 30% Comedy, 60 % Emotion but 100% Love.
First of all, there was a time when Rabi Kinagi's family entertainers were a must watch in Kolkata. Many went with families to have a perfect time to see another happy family story on screen. Emotions, Actions, Sentiments, Laughs - it was the most tempting pleasure in the whole world. Saathi, Naater Guru, Bandhan, Yuddha, Subho Drishti to I Love You, Premer Kahini, Bhalobasha Bhalobasha etc. were the movies that public which included me as well watched with whole family. But times changed. Too much gore, violence, vulgarity, cruel references took arrival in Bengali movies and the number of family viewers started showing in a gradual decrease. But I can see hope that 100% Love can bring that family crowd back once again. We can again have that same feeling with watching a movie with whole family once again. 100% Love has the potential too attract any kind of viewer in theaters.
Dirctor Ravi Kinagi shows yet again his most able hands in family entertainment. Even WANTED, JOSH, FIGHTER were very good but 100% Love brought that old Rabi Kinagi feel back once again. From a single action sequence to heavily sentimental scenes - everything was perfectly directed as well as dialogued by Poulomi Bhowmik and scripted by Rabiji himself. Story by Selva Raghavan [The writer and director of Aadavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule (2007)] had pure family feel in it. Cinematography by Mohan Verma was top notch. Australia, Switzerland everything was perfectly shot by him. The movie even got a only one action shot but that contained pure perfection by director Judo Ramu. Mohammad Kalam's editing was fine. Baba Yadav's choreography in Tumse Pyaar Hai Already [non-film version] and Ek Mutho Swapno was fine. But Stanly D' Costa's choreography in 100% Love title track and Yeh Saala Dil Hai [even not shown in the movie] was extremely awesome. Get your hands inside your jacket and sing 'It's a 100% Love Love Love Love Love'. Music by Samidh and Jeet Ganguly is also a major point in the movie. Tracks like 100% Love, Tumse Pyaar Hai Already and Ek Mutho Swapno work perfectly in the movie. No need to say that the Title Track is a rage all over our Kolkata.
We have seen the dashing new Jeet in WANTED, JOSH, FIGHTER but our well-known good ol' Jeet is back. Jeet got emotions, expressions, sentiments, moves everything in his pocket. I'm absolutely amazed at Jeet's performance especially after watching WANTED & FIGHTER. How Jeet has spontaneously changed his personality for 100% Love after WANTED is amazing. The good ol' lover boy image in his back again. Bravo! Koel was also perfect. Her performance is gradually going on a rise since DUI PRITHIBI. Supriyo Dutta was marvelous in his small but important role. As Jeet's dad he put a perfect feel in him and did an awesome job throughout. Hats Off! Biswajit Chakraborty was not seen much but he was very good in his tough and angry role. Especially in KHOKABABU, a week ago I saw him in a goofy role of Dev's dad. He did well in that. But what I saw in 100% Love was total opposite and he did that well too. Biswanath and Sujoy in the role of Jeet's friends were cool. The actors as Jeet & Koel's colleagues were also very good. Others like Kamalini Mukherjee, Sumit Ganguly and more were fine. We see Rabi Kinagi in a very small role as one of the interviewers who refused Jeet for jobs.
Finally, 100% Love reminded me of my old days when I went too see movies in theaters with my family and this is the point where I fall in love of 100% Love. Jeet-Koel Jodi or individually their fans, Rabi Kinagi fans, family entertainment seekers there are so many people who are willing to watch the movie and I'm sure they are gonna love this one entirely. Strongly Recommended that please go and watch this movie with your whole family. Otherwise watch with ones whom you 100% Love Love Love Love Love...
