Akshay I am pretty sure that you must have taken a big sigh of relief after the strike got over.
It was deep breath for me. I felt completely at ease when the news was broken to me. The rift between the producers and the multiplex lobby was on for the past two months and lastly I would like to thank both the parties for coming to a conclusion and reaching an agreement. The fact being that I am done with four of my films so I guess I must have taken the biggest sigh of relief.
Which are those four films of yours, guess we will soon witness Akshay Kumar film festival at the box office.
I only meant that the shooting part of all the films is over but rest of the production part still remains to be done. Hopefully in a span of three to four months you will get to see them all.
Ok Akshay, when was the last time when you had uttered Kambakkht Ishq in real life?
Well actually Kambakkht Ishq is such a term which people normally don′t use it in real life. Actually you tend to use things, which have a similar meaning. You even tend to say -- yaar main toh pyar mein pad gaya or woh toh ishq mein pad gaya - and stuff like that. But no one says things like Kambakkht Ishq, it′s only a title.
For those associated with the film Kambakkht for them actually is Ishq, what does Ishq means to you?
For me ishq holds a very deeper meaning and significance. Every individual should experience this once and he or she should always maintain his or her relationship with Ishq. It′s very difficult to describe the feeling one gets and experiences within oneself. It′s important for people to experience it.
Ok and what is Kambakkht to you?
Actually the last time I had used Kambakkht, it was for the strike only. I only said that Kambakkht film wale log strike par chale gaye hai.
Did anyone tell you Kambakkht Akshay?
No one has ever said such a thing in front of me, but I am pretty sure that people must definitely be saying such a thing behind my back.
Talking about the film, it has a very colorful and fresh appeal to it and to top it all you play a stuntman in the film, you must have thoroughly enjoyed working on this film.
I enjoyed every moment of it. For a person who is not from the film industry, shares no connection or background from the film industry and one who has risen from the bottom, it was a great experience. Since our childhood we have seen the Kodak theatre where Oscar awards are given every year, I actually shot with Sylvester Stallone inside Kodak theatre. Then I also had an opportunity to shoot inside Universal Studios where I had been before on sight-seeing tour. But this time during the shooting of the film, everything was stopped for us so that we could continue with our shooting. I got to work with such big actors is a great thing in itself. I am blessed.
You play a stuntman in the film; have you come across any moment in your life when your heart skipped a beat while performing a stunt?
It has happened so many times with me. And there are also occasions when it happens before only. Let me tell this to you that doing action stunt is not an easy job at all. It′s a very difficult task to perform. If you were to jump from a building or even form a helicopter, then both have different methods to it and both of them involve science. When you think about these things it′s actually very scary. I always take a deep breath whenever I perform my stunts. I always keep telling this to people that one should never do stunts but even if you are trying to do it then one should always learn how to go about it. It actually encompasses so many things. When you see us doing stunts one should never try to emulate them. Once my cousin tried to imitate me and in the process he hurt his hands badly. He actually tried to break a glass.

Who is your favourite stunt actor?
My favourite stunt actor has to be Jackie Chan, no one can do action stunts better than him. I would rather say that the way he performs his stunts and the numerous injuries he has received till date is not funny. He does all his stunts with utmost concentration and in a very focused way. I don′t know of anyone who is at par with him. I even have met him and have seen his entire making. He works with utmost sincerity.
The film talks about battle of sexes, please throw some light on it?
Actually I want to prove in the film that men are always stronger than the female, men folk don′t believe in things like love or falling in love. A female should always be kept in check and men are always superior to women. On the contrary Kareena and other women in the film are trying to prove that they are the one who are superior and think of men as nothing, and this precisely is the battle of sexes in the film. And lastly the same thing happens which is a worldwide phenomenon - the men lose to women.
The film can also be termed as the true amalgamation of the east and the west; also did you manage to teach Hindi to your Hollywood co-stars?
Yes, it is an amalgamation of the east and the west and when I say this it also does not mean that this element has been forced in the film. I play a stuntman based in Hollywood who does stunts for A list actors so it fits perfectly. As far as teaching Hindi to my co-stars in concerned, that could not happen, we conversed in English only.
Lastly what′s that one element which you feel will appeal to the audiences?
One factor is that I am doing a romantic film after a long time. It′s a new topic and a new plot. It will witness Bollywood and Hollywood together at its best. The film has been penned very well; Sabbir Khan took a long time to write the script of the film. The film has been shot at some amazing locations and to top it all it will also make you laugh. The canvass of the film is pretty huge.
Thanks a lot.
