Amitabh Bachchan & Jacqueline Fernandes in Aladin
In his forthcoming release, Aladin, Amitabh Bachchan reprises his famous look from ‘Namak Halaal’. Amitabh Bachchan′s celebrated look in the classic ‘Pag Ghunghroo’ from the film Namak Halaal, is still fresh in our minds, and the actor will be seen once again in a similar avatar in Eros International′s ‘Aladin’.
Mr. Bachchan will be seen grooving to a peppy number called ‘O Re Sawariya’ in the celebrated white kurta and pink Pagdi which he once donned in the film Namak Halaal. In this sequence, Jacqueline (Jasmine) is trying to woo Riteish (Aladin) while Amitabh Bachchan (Genius) keeps popping into the scene at various points.
Says Director Sujoy Ghosh, “We had no intentions of repeating his look from Namak Halaal. It is purely a coincidence but it definitely shows how the actor has impacted our minds over the years through his cult performances.”
Talking of the song, Sujoy adds, “O Re Sawariya is a fun filled number and Mr. Bachchan has added an extra charm to it with his unique style and unbeatable energy. We had a great time filming this song and I am sure audiences will love it too”. The song is picturised on Mr. Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh & Jacqueline Fernandes and choreographed by Bosco Ceaser and Saroj Khan. The soundtrack is by Vishal - Shekhar.
The costumes for the film are designed by Narendra Kumar. Starring Amitabh Bachchan as Genius - The Genie, Ritiesh Deshmukh as Aladin and Sanjay Dutt as ‘Ringmaster’, ‘Aladin’ also marks the debut of Sri Lankan beauty Jacqueline Fernandes who is paired opposite Riteish. With music by Vishal and Shekhar, ‘Aladin’ is produced by Eros International in association with Sujoy Ghosh′s production company Boundscript. Aladin is arriving at theatres this Diwali.
Priyanka Kothari in Agyaat
While Jacqueline is trying to woo Riteish in modern day fantasy, there are some real jungle stories while shooting at Agyaat. It′s not just the script and direction of the film that was sending chills down the spines of all the actors and units of Ram Gopal Varma′s Agyaat. They had to make do with getting spooked in real life as well. The film has been shot in the Sigiriya jungles of Sri Lanka and the unit was put up at a hotel near the jungle itself. And the nubile nymphet Priyanka Kothari had one encounter too many with the animals and creepies. Her room was nothing short of being a mini zoo in itself. As she says, “At any time you could expect a monkey staring at you from the balcony and ready to snatch your breakfast. Or then there was a snake passing by on the balcony rod. One morning when I woke up, I saw six lizards crawling on the ceiling!” Priyanka panicked and ran to the reception to ask for a better room. Imagine her shock when the receptionist told her that she was given the best room in the hotel! So you can imagine what the others had to go through. And Priyanka was also left with these creepy crawlies giving her company. And that′s not where it ended. The whole unit had to sometimes change their route in the jungle to avoid wild elephants and leaches. Even the guide that accompanied them couldn′t always help, as the elephants would just stop at some point and wouldn′t move at all. So, everyone had to take a detour to reach the shooting spot. Well, at least now Priyanka would probably not be scared of lizards and other reptiles, hopefully. And don′t be surprised if she can tell you what are the biological names of animals and plants!
