Shantanu Moitra hasnt been quite a highlight as a music composer in the industry. Yet with Aamir Khan's name involved, and of course The banner of Vidhu Vinod Chopra, one expects him to deliver. So does he do justice??

      Lets find out.

Humming by Sonu Niigaam marks the beginning of the song 'All Izz Well'. With some background vocals by Shaan as well, this song is a fun filled song with some very weird yet interesting lyrics! The song for sure would be a favourite among the college-goers and will just grown on you, the more you listen to it. Later on the song also features in a remix version, which just adds zing to this popular track. It can be given a hearing, if one is fond of remixes.

Time to get nostalgic as the next we have is the song 'Zoobi Doobi'. Sung by Sonu Niigaam & Shreya Ghoshal, this peppy track is actually a tribute to the good old cinema those belonging to Raj Kapoor times. Basically set at a steady pace, the song will cater to limited set of audience. Personally, its a below average track. This one too, features in a remix version, which again adds zing to the song, and will appeal to those who like/love the original version of this song.

Shaan comes full fledged with 'Behti Hawa Sa tha woh', A sad song basically, this is a song when a friend is lost and his friends remember him in the shades of good sweet memories se attached to it, this song again would appeal to limited audience and is not a chartbuster material. It may work, once heard along with visuals.

Sharman Joshi kicks off the song 'Give Me Some Sunshine' by saying out a few lines regarding the pressure the students go throughout their lives. And that is what the song is about. This Suraj Jaggan track, has a soft rock feel to it and focuses on the lives of the students who spend the crucial part of their lives working hard and striving in studies, and actually forgetting to live their youth life fully. You connect straightaway with the pressurized emotions of the students. Easily the best track of the album!

Sonu Niigaam is back, this time for a sad no. 'Jaane Tujhe Denge Nahin' is a track, where the friends want to hold back the friend in question. What catches your attention here is the way Sonu renders this song! You actually feel the sadness and pain with the way he emotes out in his lines. Simply fab!

On the whole, 3 idiots is an album which will take time to grow on you, but definitely does have its audience. A full on college based youth album, 3 idiots impresses with All izz well, jaane tujhe denge nahin and give me some sunshine, while it may work with its other two tracks too for many. Like other Rajkumar hirani movies, this one too has situational songs, which may appeal more, once seen on the screen. Anyhow, 3 idiots is a good album.
