The movie was rated even before it hit the theatres. For me, there exists an 'Aamir Khan' bias. Any film that has him will work, even if it is Ghajini.
Indubitably, this was an entertaining movie with higher 'emotional quotient.' Performances were good, not withstanding Kareena. Thank God, she was given a shorter frame....
I am also glad i did not read five point someone - not quite sure if its inspired from there or the story mirrors the book, nonetheless, I think i enjoyed the movie better that way.
Like I said, Aamir Khan bias just does not allow me to even accept the flaws of the movie but from a critic's point of view it at some level did get preachy. That was the only thing I was not too happy about. While it talks about the system and rightly so, the target audience already knows that. You wouldn't begin a cult with this movie. Also, given the reputation of the director, this does not compare well with 'Lage Raho- Munna bhai' where, it had every chance of being a moral science session but was quite the contrary.
Yes, from entertainment and value for money perspective it was a good weekend watch. One thing still beats me, how does he look as young as that?????
