Cocktail Box office forecast: Looks Like A Very Heady Cocktail!

Komal Nahta12 Jul 2012

Cocktail has already drawn attention of youngsters with its cool looks, good music and lyrics. Komal Nahta thinks Cocktail is going to be a fun movie which will open big with cool dude Saif romancing two pretty lasses - Deepika and Diana.

Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Imtiaz Ali collaborated for the first time in Love Aaj Kal which was a box-office hit. They come together again in Cocktail, although this time over, Imtiaz is the writer rather than the writer-director as in the 2009 film. Imtiaz Ali’s script has been directed by Homi Adajania who, prior to this, had directed Saif starrer Being Cyrus.

The very first trailer of Cocktail did the trick because it made the youngsters sit up and take note of the youthful film which looked so full of fun and frolic and so modern! Then came the songs of the film (music: Pritam Chakraborty; lyrics: Irshad Kamil and Amitabh Bhattacharya) which had the youth asking for more. Every under-25 worth his age seems to have made up his mind that he/she has to watch the film and if that’s really true, you can expect Cocktail to open big. In fact, don’t be surprised if the film takes an initial which turns out to be the best so far for a Saif Ali Khan solo starrer. Besides the hit pair of Love Aaj Kal, the film co-stars model-turned-actress Diana Penty who, like Deepika, has made guys go weak in the knees right with her appearance in the trailers which has won her many fans already. Besides the songs, dialogues, comedy and the very youthful look of the film, what has gone greatly in its favour is the fact the Saif is doing what the public loves to see him do – looking like a cool dude, romancing pretty girls, and, generally, having lots of fun.

Probably, the audience is also going to have a lot of fun, watching the film.
