Celebs unveil Star Jalsa TV channel's new slogan 'Chalo Paltai'
18 June 2012 | where: Kolkata
Star Jalsha has become one of the leading entertainment channels since it’s inception in 2008. The content, the presentation, the look and the overall presentation of the serials have made it the most popular Bengali channel as are its soaps. From 17th June, the channel has undergone a change overall where the channel has furthermore become totally different from the others. The logo has been changed, some technical changes have been made and overall the total look of the channel is different. The slogan ‘Chalo Paltai’ which has been highlighted on the channel is actually not only about the overall change of the channel, but also about highlighting ‘Bangaliyana’. By this the channel wants to send out a message that they are trying to make the serials and the protagonists of the soaps (mostly all women) modern while maintaining the local culture, traditions and values of Bengalis and under no circumstances will it be compromised. The channel also seems to be promoting womanhood through most of it’s serials as nearly all the protagonists of the soaps seems to be women and all of them appear to be very strong characters. To highlight this change, a roadshow was held at Golpark on Monday where a few actresses who feature in the soaps like Rupanjana (last seen in ‘Katakuti’ on the big screen and seen in ‘Durga’, ‘Behula’ and the forthcoming’ Anchal’, Payel Dey (of ‘Behula’, ’Durga’ and ‘Bodhu Kon Alo Laglo Chokhe’ fame and seen in the recently released ‘Maya Bazar’ on the big screen), actor Raja (of ‘Bhalobasha Dot Com’ fame and last seen in ‘Fight1:1’ on the big screen and has appeared in ‘Gundaraj’, a yet to be released film) and others were present to unveil the logo and sing along with the band present.
