91.9 Friends Fm announced the second edition of the 'Bangla Sangeet Purashkar 2012' at a press meet at HHI today where Rishi Chanda(music director of Khokhababu fame and of U Turn(then of Samidh-Rishi fame), Rupankar and Arun Chakrabarty and Abhranil Hazra of NVD Group, the main sponsors of the event were present.The unique thing about this event is that unlike other events, the event has no jury members and the awardees are awarded based on the choice of the listeners who choose the winners.The nominees will be chosen based on the weekly ABP Bangla Top Ten which has been carried out based on research involving album sales,research and play outs on radio. There will be 3 major categories to recognize musical excellence-Rabindrasangeet,Bangla Adhnik and Bangla Film.There will be a lifetime achievement award and an award which will be for the best sound designer.The Awards will be held on 25th February, 2012 at Science City.
