It was total politics

It was total politics

Q. How was the experience being on the show? A. It was great fun and we had a good chemistry on the show. I was aware of the concept of the show. There is always this anxiousness and excitement to win on the show. Well, I was out in the first three questions itself. I just had to wait and watch my other brother lose the game show.

Sohail Khan in the company of his brother ArbaazKhan created laugh riot in Aamir Khan Production’s Jaane Tu Yaa Jaane Naa. The brothers have teamed up again but this time it’s for their big brother’s show, Dus Ka Dum. Sohail bares more about the politics he had to suffer on the show and about the family, to Rajan Singh.

How was the experience being on the show?

Itwas great fun and we had a good chemistry on the show. I was aware of the concept of the show. There is always this anxiousness and excitement to win on the show. Well, I was out in the first three questions itself. I just had to wait and watch my other brother lose the game show.

Did you win anything?

It was total politics. It was total politics. Everybody is laughing at me. Even if there is some elimination round that’s ok with me but there was no any competition, I was out in the first three questions only. I think even the audience was involved in my elimination. I think they are the ones who misguided me. I would have loved my brother to win the game show but ultimately we went home with nothing.

Did you go to the show with any agenda?

Actually to be very honest when we went for the show we only had one agenda that we will have fun on the show but don’t know why we got bit nervous. That’s show because when you are watching the show it’s great fun but when you are actually playing it is a different thing altogether. The meter that goes up and down really screws your head. Even the scream of the audience always confuses you. I think a lot of questions I answered on the show were not I would always think but it came because of pressure from the audience. Even Salman bhai sometimes misguided us. It was pure politics.

Pappu Can’t Dance song was played on the show, what was the reason?

Pappu Can’t Dance... that’s so because Arbaaz really can’t dance and we often call him as Pappu. I think it was apt for Arbaaz bhai.

Your film Hello is on the verge of release. Tell us a bit more?

Chetan will hate me for this but to be very honest I have yet to read the novel on which the film is based. I was shooting in South Africa when Atul Agnihotri called me up and asked me if I wanted to be part of this film. I came to India and two weeks later the shooting of the film started. I used to go to the sets and follow exactly what was told to me. And that’s about it. After shooting for five days I figured that I was playing the character of Vroom. The lines for my character were beautifully penned and once the lines or the dialogues are good, you yourself feel good and the performance turns more genuine.

The film will also be a meeting point of the Khan brothers.

You will see the family in the film but I don’t think together. Salman bhai is there in the film from beginning to the end. Katrina is the one who is narrating the entire scenario to him about what happens one night. Arbaaz bhai is there in the film for just one song and plays Amrita’s ex husband. In the film Arbaaz bhai and myself share some screen space together.

When do we get to see Katrina as part of the family?

There are two questions that you have asked me. The first one is that when Salman will get married and the other one is that when do we see Katrina as part of the family. To be very honest, its only Salman bhai who can answer these questions. She is part of the family. But when will it become official even I don’t know. She is doing great as an actor and she is busy concentrating on her career right now. I think both Salman bhai and Katrina have work as their priority. Once they get committed they will be extremely devoted to their marriage. He only keeps saying that he is the eldest in the family so till the time his younger sister does not gets married he won’t marry so you can easily wait for another five six years.

Any special plan for Ganpati celebration this year?

That’s completely coordinated and organised by my kid sister Arpita. It really feels great during this time of the year and we have families coming over to our house and we do all the rituals.

Lastly Arbaaz has said that Salman Khan is the eternal bachelor, do you agree with his statement.

No I don’t consider Salman bhai as the eternal bachelor. The tag of eternal bachelor gives a sense of loneliness and being reclusive and he has never been like this. He has always been a one-woman man. He never had any flings. All his relationships were for a certain period and he was very committed in al his relationships. We are very sure that the day he decides to get married, the marriage would be there forever.
