Topshe of Tintorettor Jishu, Parambrata Chatterjee shares his experiences with Chandi Mukherje
This is for the third time that Parambrata Chattopadhyay is in the role of Topshe in a Feluda thriller within a span of four years. The first time we saw him as Topshe in Bombayer Bombete, and then in Kailashe Kelenkari and now the third time in Tintorettor Jishu.
Parambrata talks about his experience in the shooting of this film.
Really it was a great fun. But the fact that average age of the unit members was 45 years. So it was very difficult for me. Only Benudas son was there who accompanied me at times.
The shooting of the film was stopped for long two years from 2006 to early 2008. Does the film have any impression of this delay?
Actually my age has suddenly grown up two years and Feluda (Sabyasachi Chakraborty) has become two years older. I dont know how the audience would react, but I think I was more roundish before two years and suddenly it Hong Kong I have become more like an adult.
You definitely were very depressed at that time?
Obviously. We all wanted to finished the film as early as possible and I actually left out two offers only because this.
Was it your first shooting abroad?
No, I shot in USA for one month for Anjan Dutts film The Bong Connection. Benuda (Sabyasachi Chakraborty) had also an experience of shooting abroad. But to most of the unit members this was their first trip to abroad. And the exposure starts from serving liquor in the air craft.
Was the schedule in Hong Kong to hectic?
Babu-da (Sandip Ray) never works in a hectic was. He is very meticulous in that, like his father, I think. All the shots are pre-designed.
How was the action scenes experience?
That part of the shooting was too tough for me. We have to fight with the Chinese. They were hired. They give us training. But I think Tota-da (Tota Roy Choudhury) is a better fighter then them. Anyway, the Chinese group started cheating to the production head that they were injured during the action workshop. Anyway, even Bibhu-da (Bibhu Bhattacharya) had also to be involved in the action sequences.
Did you shoot throughout the Hong Kong area?
We shot mainly in the Kowloon area.
What is your expectation about the success of the film?
To me Bombaiyer Bombete is still at the top. But Tintorettor Jishu has a strong visual. Because it was shot in Kolkata, Jhanja, Uttar Pradesh and Hong Kong. So many locations and different backdrops, is the USP of the film. Apart from that the speed of the film is very fast. It never gives you time to take a breath. I think it will click.
Thank you, Parambrata. Best wishes for the film.
