Three friends from Delhi go missing in a small village - Jhanjhar, in Bihar. It's three months and there is no clue about their disappearance. The media and students movement demand action from the authorities. It's then that the government orders a CBI enquiry with officers Sidhant Chaturvedi (Akshaye Khanna) and Pratap Kumar (Ajay Devgn) to solve the case. They find it difficult to solve the case as the local police and other authorities are a part of Shool Sena, which is responsible for illicit activities. Sidhant and Pratap also face Ajatshatru Singh (Paresh Rawal), a ruthless police officer who misuses his power. Not only that even the locals don't support the investigation. It's with the help of Roshni, (Amita Pathak) who's the daughter of a rich and powerful villager, and Getta (Bipasha Basu), who's Aiatshatru's wife and Pratap's former love, that the investigation moves ahead. A bewildering turn of events ensuesAjay Devgn as Pratap Kumar Officer on special deputation - CBI.
A dalit himself, Pratap understands the intricacies of race relations in small towns like Jhanjhar. He has a very subtle approach to the investigation as he charms and cajoles his way though the scared, tight-lipped residents of this dusty district. He is a strong headed guy and leaving his sufferings behind his basic motive lies in not letting others go through the same. He believes in the fact that if things don't not work out in straight manner there is no harm in using other ways.
Akshay Khanna as Siddhant Chaturvedi - Chief investigative officer CBI
Siddhant has risen high in the CBI hierarchy through an idealistic adherence to protocol. He has a very no-nonsense direct approach with a 'copy book' style of investigation. His straight forward and direct approach towards all the situations is a characteristics differs him from Pratap. His way of dealing is very principled and doing things out of the box doesn't exit in his system.
    Bipasha Basu as Geeta
Geeta born in a well-to-do family leads a good and happy life. Her transition from a girl to women changes her life drastically. Dillema of her love and emotions lands her into the hands of a brutal guy, who takes away even her individuality from her. Traumatized by the inhuman activities happening around her, she chooses to be indifferent from the world. For years she has been a silent witness as well as a subject to her husbands ruthless atrocities.
    Amita Pathak as Roshni
Daughter of the most richest and powerful person of the village. Being unaware of the consequences the soft-hearted girl her heart to a lower cast boy and in turn became the initiation in the biggest investigation of the village, which kick-starts the story. Trapped in the complicacy of love and hatred she becomes one of the key elements to wipe out the inhuman crime from the village.
    Paresh Rawal as Ajatshatru Singh
SP of Jhanjhar district police. A sweet talking and corrupt police officer, full of disgust and hatred for members of lower caste. He misuses his power to the fullest to do everything out of the rule book.Reception

    [edit]Critical Reception
On the review-aggregation website ReviewGang, the film scored 6.5/10 based on 4 reviews.[1]. Anupama Chopra of NDTV rates it 2.5/5 "Aakrosh has moments of power but most of these are copied, some even down to the dialogue" [2]. Nikhat Kazmi of Times of India rated it 3.5/10 "The film works primarily because it is paced like a high momentum thriller" [3]
    [edit]Box Office
    this movie became hit.

Aakrosh was a hard hitting subject of honor killings. Due to much violence and swear languages, Central Board of Film Certification after 5 cuts gave this movie an A Certificate[4]. In an interview Devgan says that this movie is not for children and for faint hearted.Soundtrack
