    Aashayein is about a gambler who discovers a new meaning to life with a series of events in his life. The movie begins with Rahul Singh (John Abraham), a gambler, who wins Rs. 20 million from a bet and celebrates by throwing a party. The party is on full swing. with everyone having a good time drinking and partying till the wee hours. Rahul proposes to Nafisa (Sonal Sehgal) during the night of the party and then announces their engagement to all present. However, he collapses and is taken to the hospital. Thereafter, he learns that he has only 3 months more to live. He wants to make the best of the remainder of his life and leaving everything behind, moves into a soothing hospice. The inmates there change his outlook towards life. As he learns about and bonds with each one of them, he learns from the courage that he sees around him, and tries to rise above his own needs and live life to the fullest. Aashayein is the story of Rahul`s journey from darkness to light. A journey about love, hate, life, death and hope.
