The film depicts the tale of a married couple. The husband and wife are unlike each other. While the wife wants to enjoy her life, the husband is busy with his work. He works in the munciipality and spearheads the eviction of illegal hawkers and stalls from the pavements. He is not too happy to evict these poor people but is duty bound. He is even more disillusioned when he finds wealthy people getting away with the same crime by resorting to bribery. He however does not share these concerns with his wife. He takes an interest in gardening and classical music. In the mean time an old friend of his wife turns up. It is revealed that he was her one time lover. He decides to let her go as he feels their relationship was also like an illegal occupancy. He resings from his job and plans to go back to his ancestral village where his aunt resides.
