Madhuri's introductory film, in which at the tender age of 19 she shines and shows promise even then of her magnitude.
However, the storyline is spread thinly and degenerates in to some kind of advice book on how to be an ideal, dutiful wife and daughter in law.
A good clean family film from the Rajshri camps, who have made a name for themselves by making films that can be viewed with enjoyment by the whole family.
Madhuri excels in her role as a young naive bride who acquits herself well as the naive village girl and does not realize what marriage actually entails. She is full of life alongside Bengali actor Tapas Paul who plays her bemused husband; he is also very good in his role.
Although this film was not directed by Sooraj Barjatya, who regularly delivers Superhit films for Rajshri (e.g Maine Pyaar Kiya, Hum Apke Hain Koun, Hum Saath Saath Hain) it is along the same lines promoting moral/family values.
I will not rate this film extremely highly, and would recommend it only really as a curiosity for Madhuri fans who wish to see her first film. All in all well worth watching, very funny at times, 'a film your mother will love'.
