Alok Nath was born on July 10, 1956. He was always interested in films, but he began taking acting seriously when one of his father’s friends offered him a role in a move, which was being made by his elder cousin.
Alok Nath’s first film was the Oscar winning Gandhi (1982), where he played the role of Tyeb Mohammed, a legendary freedom fighter. His performance was noticed, and he started getting small roles in Hindi films. His first Hindi film was Aaj Ki Awaaz (1984).
Alok Nath rose to popularity with Ramesh Sippy’s famous TV serial Buniyaad (1987), where he played Master Haveli Ram, the protagonist.
