Anita Guha was born on 17th January 1939 in Burma. Her father was Sri Akshay Guha, she was educated upto High School. Director Sudhir Mukhopadhay selected her as a lead actress in his film called ‘Bansher Kella’ was released in 1953.
In Bombay, Anita Guha participated in a beauty contest where she was declared the winner. She had also signed a contract under ‘Kardar Collins’ for two years but unfortunately she could not honor it for a long time and had to come back to Kolkata after working for six months. After some time, Anita Guha was again taken to Bombay by the actor Om Prakash.
Anita Guha had acted in many Hindi films. She tied her knots with the then actor Manik Dutta. Anita Guha got settled in Bombay in the year 1954.
