Anuradha Paudwal was born in a middle-class family of Bombay. She was taught classical singing right from her childhood. She studied at St. Xaviers College, Bombay.
Anuradha Paudwal was still in college when she got her first break in Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s Abhimaan (1973). She also did playback for a few other films like Kaalicharan (1976), Ek Hi Raasta (1977), Des Pardes (1979) and Vidhaata (1982).
Anuradha Paudwal shot to fame with Subhash Ghai’s Hero (1983). All of its songs were huge hits. Next year, her song “Mere mann bajaa bridang…” from Utsav (1984) won her a lot of acclaim from music lovers allover. She hasn’t looked back since then.
