Bharat Bhushan a prominent Hindi film actor of the 50’s and 60’s was born in Aligarh (UP).
He got his first break with Chitralekha in 1941, followed by Bhakta Kabir in 1942. Both the films managed to do well. Between 1942 & 1949 he did few films which weren’t really successful.
Baiju Bawra and Anand Math both released in 1952 consolidated his position in Hindi cinema. Then followed Shree Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and Mirza Ghalib in 1954, wherein he had the title roles. These films gave a new lease of life to his film career. Rani Roopmati (1957), Sohni Mahilwal and Phagun (1958) were few of the other films that did well.
