Danny Denzongpa was born on 25th February, 1948, in the independent state of Sikkim. His mother tongue is Bhutia.
His love of horses and horse riding began at an early age, as his family was into horse breeding . He also wanted to join the Indian Army, and was training for the same, however, post the Indo - China War, his mother convinced him to drop the idea of joining the military. Danny then enrolled in the Film institute in Pune.
He started his career by singing Nepali songs and acting in Indian Nepali movies.He got his major break in Hindi movies with Gulzar's Mere Apne, and later in B. R.
