David Dhawan biography

David Dhawan is an Indian film director. His real name is Rajinder Dhawan. He always wanted to join films. After finishing his college, he studied at the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.

David Dhawan started his career in films as an editor. His first film as an editor was Oh Bewafa (1980). He later worked on several big films like Souten (1983), Saaransh (1984) and Naam (1986) among many others before he finally decided to venture into direction. His directorial debut was Taaqatwar (1989) starring Govinda and Sanjay Dutt.
