Deepika Padukone was born on 5th January 1986 in Copenhagen, Denmark to Ujala & Prakash Padukone. When she was eleven months old her family shifted to Bangalore. She attended Sophia High school in Bangalore and completed her under-graduation from Mount Carmel College. While persuing her studies in college she decided to enter the world of modeling. She did a lot of ramp modeling and won accolades too.

During her stint with modeling she began to receive numerous offers for films. She started by doing a music video for Himesh Reshammiya in his Aap ka Suroor album. The song Naam hai tera caught on and Deepika was recognized instantly. In 2006, she made her debut in a Kannada film titled Aishwarya.
