Dulal Lahiri was born on 24th August, 1947 in Kolkata. In 1963, he passed Higher Secondary from Scottish Church School. He graduated from Surendranath College and completed CA (Inter) also. He is a good tabla player who took his lessons from Nanku Maharaj. He runs his family pharmaceutical business.
Dulal was intimately linked with professional theatre and plays. He used to perform for “Sundaram“ group and met director Tapan Sinha there. In 1982, he made his debut in a small role in “Adalat o ekti Meye”. Rakhta Nadir Dhara(1994), Prem Sanghat (1995), Bhoy(1996), Moner manush (1997) earned him considerable name and fame.
