Kalyan Ray was born in Kolkata and educated at Presidency College, Kolkata, Delhi University, and at the University of Rochester where he earned a doctorate in literature.
He has taught at St Stephen’s College, New Delhi, Queens College of the City University of New York, and is currently a Professor of English in New Jersey. His poems and translations have appeared at the US and India; some have been anthologized.
