Kalyani Mondal was born on 3rd December. Her nickname was Bapi. Her parents were Sri Netai Kishore Mondal and smt Mina Mondal. She passed her Higher Secondary from Loreto school of Sealdah branch.
Kalyani Mondal made her small appearance in the film called ‘Prithibi Aamare Chai’ directed by Niren Lahiri was released in 1957. She went to London also to perform in a play called ‘Bhanga Aiyna’ in 1995. Kalyani Mondal took her dancing lessons Pillai (Bharatnatyam), Gabinda (Kathakali) and from Sambhu Maharaj (Kathak). She had worked in some advertisements too with Sharbanti Majumdar. She was a regular artist in Doordarshan, group theatre and in stage plays.
