Loveleen has worked as a casting director in films like Monsoon Wedding, Vanity Fair, the Terminal, Brick Lane and now in Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire.
She says that she was approached by Tabrez Noorani, the line producer of Slumdog Millionnaire and he set up a meeting with Christian Colson for casting the film. It is said that Loveleen came on board within a day of reading the script.
Loveleen was convinced that casting was not her "career" mission, and saw it as a movement towards directing her own films. Casting has allowed her to work with directors whose work she admired, and gave her the opportunity to learn the most vital element of filmmaking – working with actors.
