Manoj Kumar was born on July 24, 1937 in Abottabad. His real name is real name Harikrishan Goswami. His family migrated to India when Manoj was 10. As a child, he was deeply influenced by Hindi films, particularly by Dilip Kumar. He re-christened himself Manoj Kumar after Dilip Kumar’s character in Shabnam (1949).
