Prasad Mukhopadhay was one of the early actors in Bengali cinema, was born in the year 1910. His father was sri Narendranath Mukhopadhay. He completed his high school from New Indian High School in 1927 in Kolkata.
Prasad Mukhopadhay had managed to catch the glimpse of Satyajit Ray some how and he was selected for the Nityananda Dutta’s film ‘Baksha Badal’. The break was given to him by Satyajit Ray himself and this film was released in 1964. In the film ‘Chidiakhana’ Prasad Mukhopadhay did the role of a ugly man by applying a dull make up in his face. His makeup was so real that the peoples specially the foreigners thought that the man is actually bad looking. Prasad Mukhopadhay started his acting career quite late.
