Randhir Kapoor was born on 15 February 1947, in Bombay. He is the eldest son of the legendary figure of Bollywood Raj Kapoor and Krishna Kapoor.
Randhir Kapoor first appeared on the silver screen with the film Kal Aaj Aur Kal in 1971, which he himself directed. The film was a hit which starred three generations of the Kapoor family, including his grand-dad, Prithviraj, and his dad, Raj Kapoor. With Jawani Diwani (1972) and Raampur Ka Laxman (1972), Randhir claimed his 2nd and 3rd hits, respectively. The former starred Jaya Bhaduri and the latter Rekha, opposite him.
