Shibaji Chattopadhyay Was born in Mohanbagan Lane,Kolkata 3rd January. His family was a cultural family. His father was a Lawyer. He passed B.Sc from Madhyamgram College. He got talim from Sushil Mukherjee and Prabodh Bhattacharya.
Early life was a copy singer of Hemanta Mukherjee. Then he got chance for singing in Radio and Doordarshan.His first record comes out from Gathani Records in the year 1982.The music director Ajoy Das Gave him the chance for playback for the film Bichar. Music director Ajoy Das helped him a lot. Sibaji sang many songs under his music direction. After his first record he got a chance to record for HMV for Adhunik and Rabindrasangeet.
