Sheela Pal was born on 5th October 1940, in Kolkata. Her father’s name was Phanibhusan Pal and mother was Namibala Pal. She had to leave her studies after class viii because of the poor financial condition of her family.
Her debut film was “Gariber Meye” directed by Ardhendu Mukhopadhay in 1960. Before that she had acted in drama “Ulka” in Rangmahal Theatre. She acted on many Bengali films like “Jiban Trishna”, “Jomaloye Jibanta Manush”, “Goli Theke Rajpath”, “Sakher Chor”, “Maddhya Rater Tara”, “Uttar Megh”, “Naba Diganta”, “Pari” etc. She acted in Mahanagar directed by Satyajit Ray. She knew dance very well. She has also acted in professional stage regularly. She has one daughter.» read full biography
