She came from the hometown Hyderabad of Waheeda Rehman. She had a common guru in Waheeda Rehman. But not once was she compared to the incompatible Waheeda Rehman. She had an identity of her own. She was Zarina Wahab. This FTII student, with her middle-class girl-next-door image, enthralled the audiences from her stature. She was someone whom the audiences could identify themselves with. This was one of the many reasons of her success. After her first film 'Chitchor' (1976), she did many more films like 'Gharonda', 'Do Hawaldar', 'Gopal Krishna', 'Salaam Memsaab', 'Aakhri Insaaf', 'Sitara', 'Taxi Chor' and 'Roohi'. She mostly worked with her favourite co-star Amol Palekar and they in fact made a very good pair. There are plans of her making a comeback, though in the small screen.
