My Rating

  • A real-life incident, Presented in a waste manner!

Accident On Hill Road rating: 4 out of 10(Aakash Barvalia wrote on 12 Jan 2010)

A debu film by Mahesh Nair as a Director. His flimography shows just one film prior to this. Working as a Chief AD under Director RGV for the film Naach, which unfortunately again is a super flop with big names.

The entire film is based on the real-life incident happened few years ago, where a woman has just accidentally smashed down a guy, taken him to her garage and then later tried to kill him in fear.

Sonam (Celina Jaitly) was nurse in a well-known hospital, but was also a kind of bad girl in terms of smoking, drinking alcohol, taking drugs, and etc. One fine day she got the good news that she was selected to work as a Nurse in some London Hospital. So now for a celebration she went on with her boyfriend, Sid (Abhimanyu Singh) and her colleague cum friend to enjoy and get drunk in some party. While returning Sonam was drunk, also taken drugs, and was driving alone to go home. On the way, she hit a man, Prakash (Farooq Shaikh), who was unfortunately got stuck in the main front glass of the car. Sonam first thought that he was dead, and on a fear from police she dumped her car with the body stuck in the main front glass of the car. Later in the morning she found out that the guy, Prakash, is not dead but is still alive. Instead of helping him, she decided to keep him like this only because in a fear she thought that he might complain to police against her. Later she called her boyfriend, Abhimanyu Singh, and they both decided to kill that person so that he won’t get to the police. But later, everybody was killed except that man, Prakash (Farooq Shaikh).

Story was nice; the concept was also something interesting, but just because of some very bad acting, somewhat lousy direction, and a bit of loose screenplay, the film couldn’t hold that much for the audience.

Direction given by Mahesh Nair was below average, and there were many things shown in an unrealistic way. Many continuity jerks were also there. Story and Concept was nice and there was a lack in screenplay. Editing and Cinematography have actually balanced the continuity jerks and the shot which were looking very unrealistic.

Music was Ok, thank goodness that there were no songs, and considering the BGM, overall it was nice and holding the thriller scenes. Music Director Raju Singh had done something decent job.

Performance was awful done by each every character, except Mr. Farooq Shaikh. He was fab and each and every of his emotions were convincing. Sad to know that his entry after a long time wouldn’t be recognized in this film. I wish to see him more, but only in some good films.

Celina was looking Super Hot in her skimpy clothes, only her hair style was little bit of annoying. And as per her performance, I think she never performed only, or else tried but couldn’t convince the audiences as well as for the critic people even the 1% of her giving.

Abhimanyu Singh got “A grade” in Gulaal and reached directly to the Minus grade after accepting and performing in this film. First of all the role was not at all suitable for him, and second thing we all know why he had signed this film.

    Final verdict:
This film is only watchable for those who are keenly interested in knowing visually what had happened actually, what was the whole incident, and wanted to know that is this thing really happened in real. But can be watch only at home on some Sunday Afternoon.
