The debutant director Mahesh Nair is unable to control Celina's screechy performance. Just like he is unable to give this film the edginess it requires. Celina does absolutely nothing.
He ruins the film more with the extra additions in the script. The track between Prakash and his daughter and the dead wife is boring and doesn't add anything. The whole visa angle (justifying Sonam's behavior) is so unconvincing.
I don't understand what attracted Farooque Sheikh to a film like this. He's given us such memorable films in his career, why would he want to be associated with projects like this? His character seems to be immortal. No matter how many times there have been attempts to kill him, his character just never dies!
Mahesh Nair is unable to involve the audience in the drama. Also his direction is a shade better than the poor and sketchy script. The problem with the film is that it loses focus after a point and that takes away the seriousness from the issue.
Only watch it if you want to watch Celina!
