A very happening RJ(so much so that he is the ultimate agony ‘uncle’ of the town) falls in love with a girl whom he meets on a bus. She also starts to listen to her show as her friend is a big fan of the RJ.She also calls in and becomes a fan. The RJ takes an initiative to save a guy who is dying (his friend had called on the show) and meets his love when she recognizes him by the song he sings. He definitely falls in love, but does not confess. He even brings her estranged father closer to her who fixes her marriage with someone. The guy is devastated and goes into depression and does not host the show anymore. All his listeners turn up at the office (yah! the entire town) and request him to again host the show. He starts narrating his ‘love story’ which his beloved gets to hear from the puja mandap dressed as a bride (Yup! his colleague had silently put his confession live on air by hiding a microphone in his shirt!).His beloved comes running to him. His beloved‘s would- be- husband turns out to be the guy whose life he saved.
This happens to be the love story of Rohan and Tanu and the film is called 'Achena Prem'.The RJ’s show is called ‘Moner Janala’. Just imagine the entire town descending on the studio for a RJ! Imagine the station head receiving calls from listeners as if he is a receptionist. These are the kind of films that that the men with the Midas touch, Swapan Saha is making nowadays. He has completely gone into oblivion. The film turns out to be a tearjerker. The songs are below par and the same goes for the performances of the two leads though maybe the male debutante Akash (son of yesteryears actress Arati Bhattacharya) is a little better than Barsha. The best part about this film is maybe Mou Saha, Swapan Saha’s daughter who turns actress for the first time after assisting her father in many of his previous films. She acts as Meeta, Tanu’s friend and does a good job, just that times her eyes turn big for some reason.
