Starring Abhay Deol and Sonam Kapoor, Aisha is one of 2010’s most awaited films. The film is directed by Rajshree Ojha, the music composed by Amit Trivedi and the lyrics penned by Javed Akhtar. Trivedi and Akhtar make a terrific combo and the result is some awesome music. The Aisha album is top-notch, definitely one of the year’s best.
The album begins with the wonderful Suno Aisha. Sung by Amit Trivedi, Nakesh Aziz and Ash King, the track is such fun to listen to that you can’t enough of it. Funky music and a very different playback make it awesome.
Gal Mitthi Mitthi is sung by Tochi Raina, someone I haven’t heard before. If he’s new, we’re going to hear a lot more of him. He’s superb behind the mike, the perfect Punjabi voice for a bubbly Punjabi number.
Nikhil D’Souza rocks on the vocals in Shaam. This one’s a soothing, melodious number with sweet lyrics that are made even sweeter by D’Souza’s voice. Another brilliant number from the album. Another wonderful romantic track is Lehrein. These two are my favourite tracks from the album, you have to just listen to them to find out why.
Behke Behke is such a fun number, its funky, happening and rocking. Ditto for By The Way. Anushka Manchanda rocks in both of the tracks.
If I could describe the music of Aisha in two words, they would be: simply awesome. All tacks are superb, the music and lyrics are consistently wonderful. Really, really, well done, Amit Trivedi.
