So copied stuff…
Actually, there's no first half-second half syndrome here. It is in one continuum - few emotional scenes, a few good laughs, loads of slapstick, and mucho silliness. Oh ya… and 2-3 songs also. The problem is in each of these, you find Santoshi trying to imitate some movie. Whether it would be Raj Kapoor’s ‘Mera Naam Joker’, or Akshay Katrina’s ‘Namastey London’, or else it would be ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ chaos fight sequence. He has just tried some bhelpuri with some added chatni and masala. But I think he gorgot that he is not a cooker, he is a maker, who can create some un-identify dishes, which may not be sound like or look-a-like to others, but atleast he tried to make something unique, like he did in ‘Ghayal’, “Andaz Apna Apna’, ‘Pukar, ‘China Gate’, ‘Lajja’, ‘Legend of Bhagat Singh’, ‘Khakee’, and etc.
Though Ranbir was perfect in acting, but still he showed us many shades of various people in his character, which is not original on a fact. He showed us Raj Kapoor’s style, Jim Carey’s ‘Mask’ wala style in Dance Party sequence, Charlie Chaplin’s style, and etc. Somebody said right, he was good at ‘Wake up Sid’, here toh he was just not himself.
So Moral: Be Original & Be Unique!
Rating: No Original – So No Rating!
1.5 / 5 (only for some good original jokes and dialogues)
