'Ajintha' is based on a true love story, told never before, between Major Robert Gill & a tribal girl named Paro. Their Love was pure.. beyond all languages, all barriers, all cultures! 'Ajintha' is a musical, an adventure ride & a philosophy too, all clubbed into one.
Paro was trapped in the hands of the society's superstitions and age-old beliefs. Rising over all the odds, she still had the heart to love, the soul to serve Buddha and the guts to counter injustice. She was an excellent dancer. And very intelligently, she made colours from flowers, fruits & other natural elements.
What happened to her? What made her Captain Gill's inspiration? Most importantly, what makes her Eternal? 'Ajintha' is about Paro's life.. made to showcase to the world of her untold, unparalleled contribution & sacrifices to the mystical caves.
'Ajintha' is as much about Major Robert Gill too. He wished to bring the WORLD to Ajanta! His passion towards the art, his madness for colours, his simple, clear understanding of love.. everything this character experiences in the movie depicts how an officer from the West, slowly starts believing in Buddhist principles and gets Indian at heart. Gill chose to stay in India for the rest of his life, close to Ajanta.. close to Paro!
