    “Aponjan”was made in 1969 by the effervescent Tapan Sinha. As a film “Aponjan” had flaws & loopholes but the “heart” was just about in the right place. The postmortem of the degenerated capitalist, ideology-less society of urban Bengal was wonderfully crafted by Sinha & his group of Samaritans. This was also the debut film for Swarup Dutta & Samit Bhanja. The usage of Rabindrasangeets in the film have been mind boggling.
