"Life... Beyond Wrong And Right"
We have known Aniruddha Roy Choudhury for different movies throughout and all of them are incredibly brilliant. ANTAHEEN & ANURANAN were artistically beautiful and Rahul Bose which was common in both did a splendid job in both of them. This time Aniruddha takes Sunil Gangopadhyay's "Dui Naari Haate Torobari" as his inspiration and based on the book comes "APARAJITA TUMI". The question is that does Aparajita Tumi overlap his previous works?
Aparajita Tumi focuses mainly on the clash between Kuhu (Padmapriya Janakiraman) & Ushashie (Kamalinee Mukherjee) and how Pradip's (Prosenjit Chatterjee) life gets affected by it. Characters like Ronojoy (Chandan Roy Sanyal) [Ushashie's husband] & Yusuf (Indraneil Sengupta) [Kuhu's past love] are involved in different parts.
Aparajita Tumi is a simple story based on some facts of life blended with heartwarming moments and unnecessary but wonderful tragedies. If one expected better elements than Aniruddha's past works then that person might be disappointed but if he liked Antaheen & Anuranan then he is sure to like this one too
Director Aniruddha Roy Choudhury just like past works concentrated on the maturity in script and nature maintenance in the characters. Also we can see some good cinematography in some parts which is another good specification in his movies. Though not much artistic but APARAJITA TUMI revolves around facts of life and got the different feel in it properly and that's because of matured direction by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury. Cinematography by Ranjan Pali was top notch. After 7 years, he hits the screens again and his coverage of USA was too good as the whole movie takes place there. Editing by Arghyakamal Mitra is awesome as well. Script by Shyamal Sengupta got guts and showed much maturity. Music by Shantanu Moitra relished the movie. Just like Antaheen, we see perfection in every corner of the soundtrack of the movie. BOLA BARON, ROOPKOTHARA and SHADOW TALES redeems the movie and others worked fine on the background. Lyrics by Anindya Chatterjee and Chandril were beautiful.
In Aniruddha's movies we see the leading male character as very polite, reserved, decent and a wonderful human being. Rahul Bose in past two movies did the roles simply in an awesome way but the surprising fact is our Bumba Da Prosenjit Chatterjee skillfully managed the role. Very simple, decent and polite Pradip was awesomely handled by Bumba Da. Since 'Autograph' people has started realizing that Prosenjit Chatterjee is a wonderful actor. South actress Padmapriya Janakiraman & Kamalinee Mukherjee both try their level best to give competition to each other in the story of the movie as well as their performance in the movie. Padmapriya's role was much important than Kamalinee's and she did well too. An tension-free, independent and straight-forward woman Kuhu was bravely played by Padmapriya. Kamalinee as Ushashie was also brilliant in her role. Special regards to Chandan Roy Sanyal as this one's the best work from him till date. He was marvelous in careless, independent and frank role which reminded me of Rahul Bose in ANURANAN. Indraneil Sengupta was good in his short role. This man is evolving himself in different movies and preparing to get a good reputation in this business. Mamata Shankar as Kuhu's mother was terrific. Kalyan Roy as a mental patient and Kuhu's uncle was marvelous even it was a very short role. Soumitra Chatterjee's guest appearance in the movie was a scene-stealer.
Finally APARAJITA TUMI is brilliant like ANURANAN and ANTAHEEN but not better than them. Prosenjit Chatterjee's powerful performance, good potentials from the two leading ladies, matured screenplay and story along with a fitted soundtrack, that's APARAJITA TUMI entirely.
