Thanx to Facebook, 'Complicated' has become a social status along with 'married', 'divorced', blah blah. In real life obviously it persisted for a long time. Its good to see that Bangla movie has taken up this as a subject (done for ages) and has treated the topic with utmost sincerity. No hang ups of pushing the ending to an ideal one, yet pushed for a realistic ending.
The story revolves around 4 characters, Kuhu, Ronojoy, Pradeep and Ushashee, with a short yet distinct character, Yusuf. The very nice part of the script is that its more fact filled and less fiction filled. The two educated couples settled in US for the career demands of the respective male counterparts, they think they are complete in themselves and made for each other, yet facets of life shows them that every relation is time specific, and nothing can guarantee a honkey-dory situation throughout life.
The story is told with an awesome fluency, cinematography is superb, and the actors have done complete justice to the characters. The accents were proper and didn't feel odd. Anirudhha has somehow learned the skill to direct South Indian heroines as very presentable Bengali characters on the screen. The songs have been always plus in his movies, you always murmur the song in your own hours.
People may complain about the prototype of making one of the lead character die in his movies, but till date I must admit that the deaths seemed to be part of the script and not out of place till date.
Bottomline, if you prefer to see your sanity on, you will enjoy the movie.
