    Mind the 'Gap' Named 'Life'

Aparajita Tumi rating: 7 out of 10

    "Life... Beyond Wrong And Right"
We have known Aniruddha Roy Choudhury for different movies throughout and all of them are incredibly brilliant. ANTAHEEN & ANURANAN were artistically beautiful and Rahul Bose which was common in both did a splendid job in both of them. This time Aniruddha takes Sunil Gangopadhyay's "Dui Naari Haate Torobari" as his inspiration and based on the book comes "APARAJITA TUMI". The question is that does Aparajita Tumi overlap his previous works?

Aparajita Tumi focuses mainly on the clash between Kuhu (Padmapriya Janakiraman) & Ushashie ... » read more

    Third time unlucky

Aparajita Tumi rating: 4 out of 10

    By Bhaskar Choudhury(17 Mar 2012)

After establishing himself as a quality film maker with Anuranan and Antaheen, Aniruddha Ray Chowdhury returns with his third film, Aparajita Tumi. Expectations from the film are paramount - along with the director's previous films, Prasenjit appears after the super successful Baishe Srabon and Moner Manush.

Aparajita Tumi is the story of two couples - Pradeep (Prasenjit) and Kuhu (Padmapriya), and Ushoshi (Kamalinee Mukherjee) and Ranajoy (Chandan Roy Sanyal). Both couples are based in the US, and are family friends, and are polar opposites - where Kuhu is straightforward, ... » read more

Life beyond right or wrong -as it says

Aparajita Tumi rating: 0 out of 10

Completely based in the U.S.A, the film starts with us looking at Kuhu (Padmapriya) and Pradeep (Prosenjit) having their dinner. Just as it looks like any other dinner situation, Pradeep tries to make a confession which leaves Kuhu shattered. Kuhu moves to her parent’s place with their kids and eventually leaves the kids there for a while before going on to spend some time by herself in her uncle’s apartment that’s lying unused. The story then keeps moving back & forth in time, so that we get to figure out what went wrong between Kuhu and Pradeep. We are also introduced ... » read more

    Complicated relations

Aparajita Tumi rating: 10 out of 10

    By Arnab Bhattacharjee(25 Jan 2012)

Thanx to Facebook, 'Complicated' has become a social status along with 'married', 'divorced', blah blah. In real life obviously it persisted for a long time. Its good to see that Bangla movie has taken up this as a subject (done for ages) and has treated the topic with utmost sincerity. No hang ups of pushing the ending to an ideal one, yet pushed for a realistic ending.

The story revolves around 4 characters, Kuhu, Ronojoy, Pradeep and Ushashee, with a short yet distinct character, Yusuf. The very nice part of the script is that its more fact filled and less ... » read more

Kamalinee,Padmapriya and Chandan are top notch

Aparajita Tumi rating: 6 out of 10

There are several Bengali films which are nowadays being made revolving around relationships. This is one subject which Bengali filmmakers are slowly becoming a master in making. Someone who started the trend a couple of years back with the very beautiful national winning Antaheen, director Aniruddha Roychoudhury is back with his latest film called Aparajita Tumi-yet another film beginning with 'A' and dealing with multifarious relationships.

The film which is based on a novel by Sunil Gangopadhyay called 'Dui Nari Hate Tarabari’.The film is centralized on two ... » read more
