Dibakar came from an orthodox family and his father was a strong supporter of non-secularism. Dibakar was a music lover. Once he decided to learn music and there he fell in love with his mentor's daughter(Indrani Dutta). He wanted to marry her and went to take permission from her father but he was asked to convert into Islam. When Dibakar's father came to know of all this he was thrown out of his house. He came out of his house but got trapped by some anti-social elements. In order to save his life he entered into a Christian home for help but unfortunately he was arrested and imprisoned. When he came out of the jail he came to know that Mr.Smith (the father who saved him from the anti-social elements) had died. He went to Mrs.Smith but after few days she too died. He took the responsibility of their daughter Debasree Roy (Lona Smith) and brought her up. She grew up and fell in love with her boss Prasanjit Chatterjee. When Dibakar (who had later converted himself into Christianity and changed his name to Samuel Denis) came to know about this he strongly opposed their relationship on grounds of religious differences.. He went to Prasanjit's house to kill him. There he saw his mother and then he came to know that Prasanjit was his own younger brother. He then realized his mistake and accepted their relationship.
