Tanushree Dutta: Preeti Sengupta
She is an attractive, young, career woman in her late twenties, working as an airhostess for a domestic airline. She invests her life savings to put down payment on a 2BHK apartment in the suburbs but can't manage the monthly installments without the help pf her live in boyfriend Karan Malhotra. Her boyfriend's colorful past makes her insecure about her relationship and she has trust issues which lead to frequent quarrels between the couple. When one such spat gets out of hand, she throws him out of the apartment only to realize that she can't afford the payments on her own. On the advice of colleague, she advertises for a new flat mate.
Rohit Roy: Karan Malhotra
He is a handsome, successful, advertising executive, leading a charmed yuppie life in contemporary Mumbai. He has been quite a ladies man, but for the past three years, he is in a committed relationship with his girl friend Preeti Sengupta. When she invests in a 2BHK apartment in the suburbs and is worried about monthly payments, he offers to move with her and share the financial burden.
Neetu Chandra: Neha Bhardwaj
She is a young, innocent looking, small town girl, who has just arrived in Mumbai looking for a job and a place to stay. She gets a job as a data entry clerk at a book store through an employment agency and responds to Preeti Sengupta's advertisement for a room for rent. Her simplicity and respectful demeanor impresses Preeti who takes her in as her new flat mate. Preeti also feels sympathy towards Neha when she learns that Neha has been brought up in an orphanage, but Neha is also harbouring a secret which when revealed completely changes the dynamics of their relationship.
Anupam Kher: Madhusudan Tanha
He is an elderly, neighbor, living next door to Preeti's apartment. He is a poet and a songwriter with a pen name Tanha, which is quite symbolic of his life as he lives alone in his apartment with his pet Persian cat whom he adoringly addresses as 'Shehzadi'. His literate poetry finds no takers in crass commercial Bollywood but an item number written on the advice of a producer is quickly picked up and filmed with a hot item girl. His involvement in his neighbor's affairs leads to dire consequences for Tanha.
Preeti Sengupta (Tanushree Dutta) is an airhostess living in with her boyfriend Karan Malhotra (Rohit Roy). They share a nice 2BHK apartment in the northern suburbs of Mumbai and are befriended by their elderly neighbor Madhusudan Tanha (Anupam Kher), a struggling poet and lyricist. Tanha is a loner living with his only companion, a Persian cat whom he lovingly calls Shehzadi.
Preeti is possessive and has issues with trust. When she mistakenly suspects her boyfriend to be unfaithful, she throws him out of the house but soon realizes she can't afford the payment on the apartment on her own. On the advice of a fellow airhostess, she advertises for a tenant to share her apartment. Enter Neha Bhardwaj (Neetu Chandra), a modest small-town girl asking for accommodation. Very impressed by her simplicity and respectfulness, Preeti believes she has found a perfect roommate. The two girls soon become close - their camaraderie leads them to even become companions.
Until things begin to go disastrously wrong - slowly and steadily. Preeti's seemingly normal life is thrown off gear - with a series of incidents that take her by surprise. Is it just co-incidence or is someone deliberately causing all the trouble? Is Neha really as simple as she seems? In the grip of mystery, unforeseen and gruesome events and murder as its heinous best, the truth seems shocking as it in folds.
