Arjun Rampal was born on November 26, 1972 in a very high-class Punjabi family of New Delhi. He did his schooling from Kodaikanal International school. While Arjun was doing his college, He was discovered by Rohit Bal at a local discotheque. Rohit Bal became his mentor, and brought him to the Glamour world. Very soon, Arjun Rampal became one of the most popular super-models. Rajiv Rai also cast him in a music video “Don’t Marry” where Arjun caught everyone’s attention with his clean-cut looks.

Arjun Rampal’s first film was Pyar Ishq Aur Mohabbat (2001), directed by Rajiv Rai. The film flopped badly, but Arjun’s screen presence was noticed and he got many offers. He then did Vashu Bhagnani’s Deewanapan (2001) and Ashok Mehta’s Moksha (2001), which too failed to set the box-office on fire. However, Arjun Rampal did display a spark of brilliance in his performances this time.

Arjun Rampal’s first hit was Aankhen (2002). Though the film also starred Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal in more important roles, Arjun’s role was crucial never-the-less. Same year, He did Kundan Shah’s Dil Hai Tumhara (2002).

His most restrained performance was in Dil Ka Rishta (2003), where he co-starred with her old friend Aishwarya Rai. His act in Khaild Mohammed’s Tehzeeb (2003) too silenced his critics to some extent. Arjun Rampal’s next was Asambhav (2004) with Rajiv Rai, but it failed badly at the box-office. After Asambhav, Arjun did some forgettable films one after the other. The films where he had main roles didn’t work, but His cameos in Karan Johar’s Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna (2006) and Farhan Akhtar’s Don (2006) were liked by cine-goers. During these films, Arjun also made a close bonding with Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan. Arjun’s home production I See You (2007) didn’t see any success, but Om Shanti Om (2007) worked wonders for him. He played the bad guy very convincingly, against the expectations. Arjun Rampal has Rituparno Ghosh’s The Last Year and Abhishek Kapoor's Rock On ready for release.

Arjun Rampal won the IIFA Face of the Year award in 2001. He also bagged the Star Screen award for Best Debut the same year. He won several awards for his performance in Om Shanti Om. He is married to former model Mehr Jessia with two kids, Mahika and Myra. He was proclaimed Society’s Face of the year in 1994. Actress Kim Sharma is his cousin. He was the part of the very successful Temptations World Tour in 2004, which also had Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, Rani Mukherji, Saif Ali Khan and Priyanka Chopra.
