Asha Sachdev is a famous TV and film actress. She came to Bombay in 1970 to make it big in Hindi films.
Asha Sachdev’s first Hindi film was Double Cross (1972) directed by Gogi Anand, which also starred Vijay Anand and Rekha. The film was flop. After Double Cross, Asha Sachdev played small parts in films like Kashmakash (1972), Parinay (1974), Lafange (1975) and Mehbooba (1977) Asha Sachdev’s breakthrough film was Basu Chatterji’s Priyatama (1977), where she played the role of Neetu Singh’s friend. She won rave reviews for her performance in this film, and drew a lot of attention. Asha Sachdev went to do small roles in some big banner films like Judaai (1980), Satte Pe Satta (1982) and Prem Rog (1982)
The next landmark opportunity for Asha Sachdev was Ramesh Sippy’s Grand TV serial Buniyaad (1987). Asha played the role of Shanno, and reminded the audience that she was still a capable performer as ever. Her other memorable roles were in films like Eeshwar (1989), Agneepath (1990) and Baaghi (1990).
Asha Sachdev was last seen in Yash Raj Films’ Aaja Nachle (2007). Her other memorable cameos was in Khaild Mohammed’s Fiza (2000) Asha Sachdev won the Filmfare Award in 1977 in Best supporting actress category for Priyatama.
