    The story centres around a poor teachers son, Subhomay Sanyal (Chironjit). Subhomay is pursuing his education in Kolkata. Alosi, a college student (Papaiya Adhikari) falls in love with him but her feelings are not reciprocated by Subhomay. In the meantime his father is wrongly blamed by the rich school secretary, Mrigonko (Niranjan Roy) forcing him to resign from his job. But the family needs money as Subhomoy's sisters wedding has been fixed. Subhomoy tries to arrange the money and asks his friends to help him, but does not manage to do so. Even Alosi doesn not help him in his crisis. At that moment Subhomoy meets his old friends Mili(Ratna Ghoshal)and Amit (Mrinal Mukhejee). Amit owns a hotel and Mili had won a dance competition at the hotel . Amit helps Subhomoy on the condition that Subhomoy marries Amit's adopted cousin, Malnota (Debika Mukherjee). Subhomoy agrees to do so after his sisters wedding. On the night of his weding, Subhomoy goes to his village for some important work. In his absence, Amit sells off Mamola to Mriganko. Mriganko leaves with Marnola, who misunderstands the situation and blames Subhomoy for her plight. On the other hand when Subhomoy comes back from his village he tries to find his wife with the help of the police. Mariganko tries to sell off Mamola but is arrested by the police. Mili confesses that Amit is the main culprit and Mriganko and Amit are punished by the Court while Subhomoy returns home with Marmoli.
