We, as living beings, generally tend to go with the flow, or sometimes against it. We, as human beings, most of the times, live for the society. We , as , member of homo sepiens family, are generally made-up of genes that are selfish(read Richard Dawkin's "Selfish Genes"). There is not anything wrong with these. But, we seldom find times, when we can actually tear us apart open, and see our selves as really who we are. We always associate the term "I" with 80% sentences we speak during the day. What this"I" mean? who is this "I"? Your body, face, hands, heart, hair.these are all outer instruments, this is not the real"I".
The success of autograph lies there. It will help you to at least ponder for a moment, who exactly "you" are. I am not going to the story itself, as there is enough written, and per say, the story is just an excuse in this movie..or is there really a story in that sense?
Autograph is about the life itself, how it flows, how it moves, how it applies break, how it sounds when a glass apparatus breaks. My words may sound complete boring or desparate attempt to show my typical intellect, but you will realise what I am saying once you watch it.
Regarding acting and stuff, I dont think it can be termed as prasenjit as fantastic, nandana was brilliant, indranil was dashing..such and such. This film is not about who acts how. I believe the actors also enjoyed every moment of this movie, as during shooting, I believe they also found out lot of answers about themselves. But just for the sake of people who want to know how they acted, I would say great. Nandana will remind you about youth, passion, exeburance, professionalism, emotion, diplomacy all can go hand in hand.
There can be lot of debates about how some parts of the movie or some scenes of the movie could have been better, but again , this movie is not about how it has been done, or how it could have been improved. Its about unmasking the real innerself. Its about how you can discover yourself when you put off the mask we all wear during our day, when lights go off, "pack-up" is uttered.
Songs were hit long before the movie released, and their cinematic sequencing was such that after each song ended, you wished it can roll in your ear for ever, as it will help the so called "soul searching" more.
I can keep on writing, but its better to live it here and let you soak in the movie yourself. Autograph will make you think, will help you find some lost moments in your life. Thank you Srijit
