This is not a movie... It's an experience
When I had seen the first Trailer of Avatar I didn't know what to expect. After seeing the second trailer, I totally wanted to see the movie. At that time I did not know that the movie was being screened in 3D.
Avatar is an experience. From the first frame to the last you get to see great visuals on screen which just blow you away. Combined with the 3D experience, it is something you are going to remember for days to come.
Avatar is no match for James Cameron's last outing Titanic, it does not provide you the same thrill as one gets while watching Terminator 2. But nonetheless it is a movie with an old story told in an entirely new way. The visual effects, the animation are all great and take the experience to the next level, where you cannot just take your eyes off the screen. If not for the visuals the movie just ends out to be just OK. With the visuals, it's excellent.
The movie begins slowly, gains pace, then again slows down to finally race towards the ending where if you blink you would have missed the action.
The movie took 14 years to conceptualize and bring to the screen. James Cameron leaves no stone unturned to bring to you the best experience of the year, only to be watched in 3D.
