Zia Sarhady 's ' Aawaz ' basically deals with the custom of dowry, in its own way. Master is a poor man, who has hidden his poverty from his family by telling a lie. He had saved a huge amount of money for his daughter's marriage, at a friend's place. Master son Kishan loves Jamna & Ashok loves Master's daughter, Bela. Ashok's father ask for a dowry of Rs. 3000. Master, then asks for same amont from Jamna's father, but he shows his poverty. So, Ashok and Jamna are married, without any dowry. Now Master is concerned for Bela's mariage. He asks for a loan from his Sethji, but in return he is fired from job. Ultimately Master starts losing his health, and ultimately dies. But before his death, Jamna comes to know about Master's lie. She starts giving tutions to Sethji's chilldren. Although the marriage of Bela is fixed with Ashok but Kishan is skeptical about the marriage. Family pressurises Jamna for giving away from Seth ji. Seth ji gives her, the half money and promises to pay the rest later, but when Jamna goes again to ask for the money, he puts a deal infront of Jamna on ' Quid-pro-Quo' . Now Jamna has no other way to escape, than to accept the deal. Will Jamna fall in trap made by Sethji ? Or would she retaliate ?
