    Ayesha Takia was born on April 10, 1985 in Chembur, Mumbai. She went to St. Anthony’s High School. When Ayesha was just 15, she appeared in a Falguni Pathak music video and shot to instant fame. A year later, she appeared in DJ Akeel’s “Shake it Daddy”, and again drew all the attention. When Ayesha was just 17, She signed Socha Na Tha (2005), which also marked the debut of Dharmendra’s nephew Abhay Deol. But the film took long in making. Meanwhile, Abbas-Mustan saw the rushes of this film and signed Ayesha for their next film Taarzan: The Wonder Car (2004). Meanwhile, she also did Dil Maange More (2004) with Shahid Kapur. Taarzan: The Wonder Car relased before Socha Na tha. And although it flopped badly, Ayesha Takia drew all the gazes for her great screen presense. Next year, Socha Na Tha released where she was praised by all the critics for her natural performance. Everyone saw a future superstar in Ayesha Takia.

    After Socha Na Tha, Ayesha Takia played pivotal roles in films like Shaadi No. 1 (2005), Home Delivery (2005), Shaadi Se Pehle (2006) and Yun Hota To Kya Hota (2006). Although all these films flopped, it was proven that Ayesha Takia had drawn attention of the biggest of film makers. Meanwhile, She did a Telugu film, Super (2006) with superstar Nagarjuna, which was a huge hit over there and made her popular down the southern states too.

    Then came Nagesh Kukunoor’s Dor (2006) in which Ayesha simply silenced all the critics by her fabulous performance. This film really proved she was one of the most talented young actresses. 2007 however saw Ayesha Takia’s worst phase. All her films flopped badly, including a multi-starrer like Salaam-e-Ishq (2007) and No Smoking (2007). In 2008, her films Sunday and De Taali released to low collections.

    Ayesha Takia is working on films Wanted Dead and Alive and Nagesh Kukunoor’s 8 x 10. Ayesha Takia won Filmfare Best Debut award in 2004 for Taarzan: The Wonder Car. She also won Star Screen award for Best actress for Dor in 2006. She was also awarded the Star Sabse Favourite Nayi Heroine in 2005. Ayesha Takia has done more than 60 ad films since the age of 4. In 2006, Ayesha Takia was included in Top 10 List of the Most Desirable Women Alive in India. Her father is a Gujarati while her mother is a half British and half Maharashtrian.
